I will have a booth at Babes in Toyland Holiday Market Place November 6th from 9 to 5. I will have several new items for sale for mamas and little ones. I will also be happy to answer questions and schedule fittings for slings.

Safety and Slings
There have been many reports in the news lately regarding slings and safety; including a recall of the Infantino SlingRider. I believe the message and intent are right on. As a mother myself I believe the safety of our children is of the utmost importance.
When wearing a sling it is necessary to be mindful of your baby's health, comfort and safety at all times. I strongly encourage any caregiver or parent who uses a sling to be informed about sling safety.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission has detailed information on their website with guidelines and simple illustrations.

Sad Day for Austin
Sadly, today the Austin Baby Store has closed it's doors. This one of a kind store has nurtured many mamas and babes; and it is very heartbreaking to know they will no longer be serving the Austin community.
I met Erin when we were both selling our respective wares at the Austin Birth Fair (when Austin Baby was just a seed, an idea, a dream.) I didn't know then that Erin would become one of the most amazing women I know and would inspire me as a mom, a business owner, and a friend.
She had a vision of a place for mamas (and families) that would offer more than products, a place that could be more than a store. And although they are closing I feel that Austin Baby always held true to what Erin envisioned.
It was a place where mamas could get advice, access products once only available online, ask questions and get knowledgeable answers (all while your little ones were playing), where you could nurse openly, receive customer service above and beyond, and where you could be more than a customer, more than a vendor, more than an employee - you could be part of the Austin Baby family. Erin and Angela brought something really special to our Austin community and I don't think there will ever be another place like Austin Baby.
To Erin and Angela - Thank you for your vision, thank you for inviting me into your family, and thank you always for your friendship.

360 Bebe Fall Fabrics & Facebook
Well, it seems blogs are old hat and facebook & twitter have taken over. I haven't quite mastered the whole twitter thing but 360 Bebe is now on facebook. I posted pics of the newest fabrics and I'm sewing like crazy. I'm eager to get my newest slings over to the Austin Baby Store. They have a beautiful new location on Lamar at Barton Springs. I hope to get the newest line sewn up asap and to have a huge Bebe Shower complete with Bebe gifts. To receive your invite to the shower please send me an email with the text Bebe Shower in the subject line. info@360bebe.com

Update
Congress has issued a stay in regards to the new standards for children's products. This means that the law is still in effect but there will be no enforcement for a period of one year. Hopefully this will give congress a chance to work out all the kinks in this important legislation. This is good news for small businesses.
However, I have decided I would like to take some time off. I will be closed to new orders definitely until September. This will give me some much needed personal time to spend with my boys. My youngest will start kindergarten in the fall and I will make a decision at that time whether to continue with 360 Bebe.
I have loved this business. It has given me the opportunity to meet some amazing mamas and beautiful babies. I have received many emails with kind words and it is very heart warming. I feel very blessed to have been in this business for almost four years and I'm being very prayerful about what is next for me.
Thank you so much for your business and support.
And if you are currently looking for a sling, there are still 360 Bebe slings available at Austin Baby Store and Due Maternity.

Sad News
By now you might have heard of the new CPSIA regulations that require lead testing for all products manufactured for use by children under the age of twelve. Sadly the testing is cost prohibitive for small businesses such as 360 Bebe. Subsequently, I will be closing in February. If the law is amended in such a way that I'm able to continue my business I will consider re-opening at that time.
Currently, I'm completing sling orders for the Austin Baby Store and Due Maternity who will be able to sell my slings as long as they are in the stock before the February 10th deadline.
Please feel free to contact me with questions or concerns. emily@360bebe.com
